"How is Your Portfolio Doing? Estimates of the Costs and Benefits of Evidence-Based Public Policy Choices"

This presentation summarizes the approach taken by the Washington State Institute for Public Policy to assist Washington State government in identifying, adopting, and successfully implementing a portfolio of evidence-based policies that: (a) improve the odds that desired public outcomes will be achieved, (b) focus scarce public resources on options that raise the overall return on taxpayer investment, and (c) offer policy makers a practical "context-specific" road-map for staying on course to accomplish (a) and (b).
