The
Sociology Department has a long-standing commitment to having
a diverse graduate student population. Our efforts toward
this goal are aided by the Hubert M. Blalock Endowment which
each year provides financial support during the first year
of study to a student from an underrepresented group.
We
endorse the University's statements on diversity (http://www.washington.edu/diversity)
and work with the Graduate School 's Graduate Opportunities
and Minority Achievement Program (GO-MAP) (http://www.grad.washington.edu/gomap/default.htm)
to enhance the climate of diversity in our graduate program.
