The
minor examination is
- Intended to demonstrate
familiarity to teach in the area
- Conducted in a one-day period
- A paper of 15-page maximum
length.

two options regarding scope:

covers the full range of the area, but with a relatively
lesser degree of depth than expected on the major area
exam
- a depth option: exam covers
